Bereavement

If anyone in your family or group of friends dies you may want to talk to someone. There are several organisations that offer a listening ear or a counselling service; some of these deal especially with people who have been bereaved.

The Small Creature - this story book from the British Heart Foundation is suitable for any child who has suffered a bereavement and encourages them to talk about how they are feeling. The story helps children express what they may not have had the chance to say to the person they have lost, as well as helping them to learn to hold on to their memories. The book was published in May 2010 and can be ordered by phoning the BHF on 0870 600 6566 or visiting www.bhf.org.uk/publications.aspx
