For a few hours

Sitting schemes can give you the opportunity to take a short break for a few hours. Allowing you to do many things whilst the person you care for stays at home - including:
  • taking a little exercise, like a walk
  • Visit with some friends
  • Talk uninterrupted with family or friend on the phone
  • Do some of the domestic chores or some gardening
  • Watch some television or read a book
  • Do some shopping
  • Have a bath
  • Have a hair cut and/or pamper yourself
  • Or just get out for a few hours.

Local voluntary groups such as Crossroads provide sitting services.
