Community alarms

Most local authorities, along with some private and voluntary sector services, provide a community alarm system for older and/or vulnerable people to enable them to call for help in an emergency. A portable trigger can be used to call for help from anywhere in the home, just by pressing a button. Some community alarm schemes provide visits from a mobile warden or can call the client at a regular time each day and if the call is not answered, will set into action the emergency procedures. Having a community alardm installed can give peace of mind to concerned family, friends and carers.
