For more information Read more here. b>Bans system is under fire, 22 January, 2007 Abusive carers are said to be 'slipping through the net' The system for banning some carers from working with vulnerable adults is facing criticism from both sides of the fence. A High Court judge has ruled that the scheme, which puts those suspected of abuse on a blacklist before they are convicted, is a breach of their human rights. But one Calderdale care home boss believes the scheme is not rigorous enough. Pat Asquith said some people who should not be allowed to care for anyone who is frail and elderly are slipping through the net. Read more here.
