Transport
Your needs for transport can be wide and varied. Some people will need to know about transport that can accommodate wheelchair users, whilst others will need to know if there is help or assistance available from the driver or whether there is a service providing a travel companion. The types of journeys needing to be made will be varied too, but are likely to include ...- To and from shops
- To and from family
- To and from hospital or GP appointments
- To and from support groups
- To take trips out
The Sussex County Card added 10.09.07
Concessionary bus pass for people aged 60 or over, as well as most people with a disability, including children of fare-paying age, permanently resident within their local District or Borough Council. Under this scheme free travel is allowed after 9am Monday-Friday, and any time on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
The County Card allows a disabled or elderly person to travel free on most buses in Sussex. Disabled people who are unable to travel without the assistance of a companion can apply for a Companion Card which entitles the companion to free travel.
