Speech and language difficulties

Your concerns whilst looking after someone with speech and language difficulties will include communicating with him or her and helping them cope with communicating in his or her every day life.

There are therapists who work in a wide range of location who can support the person you care for with advice, treatment, assessment and diagnosis.

Help and support for you could include:
  • Advice and training to help the person you care for practice and maximise his or her communication skills
  • Support groups
  • Counselling
  • Equipment.
