Other benefits and concessions

You or the person you care for may be entitled to other benefits or concessions.

Every district or Borough Council provides a concessionary travel scheme, which gives older and/or disabled people free bus travel. Some schemes also offer reduced fares for other transport such as trains and taxis. Contact your local council to find out more.

Many leisure venues and places of interest offer concessionary rates for disabled people and their carers.

Horsham District Council operates the Leisure Access Card, which provides discounts at various leisure facilities within the Horsham district. www.horsham.gov.uk

Age UK's factsheets 'Living well in your neighbourhood' and 'Travel and Transport' both contain some useful information about concessionary travel. Visit www.ageuk.org.uk (Age Concern and Help the Aged merged in April 2010 and became Age UK).
